About TeamHealth Teleradiology
TeamHealth Teleradiology (THT) was founded in 1991 in Durham, North Carolina, by board certified radiologists. At that time, the centralized interpretative services group offered reading expertise in MRI and CT for rural physicians who lacked access to or experience in these modalities. The group provided 24-hour-a-day coverage, including nights and weekends. THT was the first and the largest teleradiology company of its kind. After 15 years in the teleradiology business, THT has evolved its business model. Located in Tampa, Florida, the group serves hospitals and radiology groups in the Central and Eastern time zones, but it will be expanding coverage to other parts of the country this fall.
THT is a division of TeamHealth, the nation's largest provider of outsourced physician staffing and administrative services to hospitals and other healthcare providers. TeamHealth serves more than 500 hospital clients and their affiliated clinics and surgical centers in 44 states with a team of approximately 5,000 physicians, mid-level providers, and nurses. TeamHealth provides comprehensive programs for emergency medicine, hospital medicine, intensivist, teleradiology, anesthesiology, pediatrics, and other hospital-based clinical services. |
